Amee V. Evangelista-Marcayda, Speech Pathologist

I am a speech language pathologist (SLP) and I have been here at Mira Vista for 17 years now. Prior to working for the District, I was practicing in Manila (Philippines) where I had my own private clinic which was a partnership with a developmental pediatrician and a child psychologist. This is my 26th year as an SLP and I love what I do! Aside from enjoying what I do here at MV, I am also passionate about serving others. I am married to an accountant and we love to go on long drives and finding good food. Our Sundays are dedicated to serving at our home church. My mindset centers on the following – I get to do it! Be intentional, live with purpose and always be grateful no matter what. I love my Mira Vista community! aevangelista@wccusd.net

Samia Little, After-School Program Director

I was born in Yemen and came to the United States when I was five years old (1983). I’m half Yemenis and half Vietnamese and my faith is Islam. I’m the oldest of seven siblings. I started working for WCCUSD since my daughter was in kindergarten, & now she’s 21 years old. My role in the district was a paraprofessional in an SH, NSH, & the Learning Center class. Serving the students became such a passion that I knew I had a bigger obligation and duty to serve the community, So that’s when I became an After-School Program Coordinator for Bay Area Community Resources for the past 5 years. I am truly Blessed to be at Mira Vista where it’s so diverse and by far has the best support & community. “It isn't where you came from. It's where you're going that counts” * Ella Fitzgerald * slittle@bacr.org

Adrianna Jeanpierre, Psychologist

I'm the school psychologist assigned to Mira Vista. I enjoy my place at Mira Vista because of the amazing community feeling, and the great staff, families, and kids that I have the opportunity to work with and support. I grew up in the Central Valley and came to the Bay for college at San Francisco State University, which I attended for undergrad and graduate school. Outside of Mira Vista, I teach school psychologist graduate students at SF State, supervise interns in the district, and lead a cultural competence committee in the psych department. When I am not at work, I like to spend my free time with friends and family, traveling, crocheting, attending trivia nights, and checking out many of the great restaurants in the Bay Area. adrianna.jeanpierre@wccusd.net

Sue Gillespie, Occupational Therapist

I am the occupational therapist assigned to Mira Vista. I went back to school after my youngest child entered middle school and got both my bachelor's and master's degrees in occupational therapy at San Jose State. After graduating, I worked for two years for another district before coming to WCCUSD. I love my job. I love to see the growth the students make each year. It is very rewarding. I also love working with the other OTs in the district and at Mira Vista (starting my seventh year here). We have a wonderful community of teachers, staff, admin, and families. I don't have a lot of spare time — I'm usually working or involved in some family, community or church activity. I'm also currently taking piano lessons and hope to take guitar someday. Additionally, I'm studying Spanish. Once in a while, I take time to hike, cook, read, and/or to play puzzles, word games, or Sudoku. If I had more time, I'd do scrapbooking, sewing, and ceramics. When we have a chance, my husband and I visit our nine children and 32 grandchildren who are spread all across the United States. Family is what it is all about. sgillispie@wccusd.net
